Part 1 The Theory Test

This is an advanced theory test which consists of 100 multiple choice questions. It lasts for 90 minutes and requires you to get 85 out of 100 in which to pass. There is an additional hazard perception test which requires a pass mark of 57 out of 75.

This is a home study course structured so that you can complete most of it in your spare time at home with visits to our instructors for progress checks.

Part 2 - The Advanced Driving Test

This is a practical driving course to develop your own driving to the professional level required for the Advanced DSA Instructor Driving test. The Part 2 driving test is very similar to the current learner driving test however you are expected to perform to a higher standard. This is a 60 minute test and you are allowed a maximum of 6 minor faults. We will take you out in the car and assess your driving ability and then will work with you to bring you to DSA test standard.

Trainee Licence - Instructing real pupils whilst training for part 3 (Optional but recommended).

After completing part 2 you will then have two options; either complete 20 hours worth of training and go for your 1st attempt at part 3 or the other most recommended alternative is the trainee licence route. The reason as to why this is recommended is because it enables you to practice what you have learnt. In the part 3 exam you will need to anticipate what mistakes the examiner is going to make and without first hand experience with real- life pupils it will be very difficult to achieve this.

In order to be eligible for the trainee licence you will need to have completed 40 hours worth of in-car and in-Class training. Once completed you will need to be sponsored by a driving school (i.e us) and then apply for a trainee licence. The trainee licence lasts for 6 months but occasionally can be extended depending on the DSA.

Part 3 - Your ability to give instruction test.

This is a comprehensive theory study and practical course to train you in the art of teaching others to drive and to introduce you to the real job of running a successful diary.
Working - Where you start teaching pupils. Your training continues throughout this period as a series of weekly training sessions that focus on developing a profitable diary and preparing you for each of the teaching tests.
